Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
In one of my West Ham Whatsapp groups, people with club cash say that the club have emailed them with a deadline of 31st August to spend it. Has anyone else received it?

It's a liberty from the club when most people use it to put towards the following seasons, season ticket.

@Chav_Corner. Any chance this could be raised with the club?

I wonder how much club cash is in the system. If I had any I’d spend it as quickly as possible with inflation at 10%. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree with Niblets. I’m not sure this is one worth fighting. It’s all there in the T&C’s about expiry dates

Might be better off keeping the powder dry for a different battle.

Niblets.A number of our members have compained.and we are duty bound to take their complaints up if they have substance. In the past the club have never stuck to expiry date. Our members are worried that by emailing supporters the club now iintend to enforce. This would be fundamentally wrong and we cannot stand by and let this happen.-Hope this clarifies mate.COYI.

It's not a straight forward divide by nine - it's done by match category, so for this weekend I'd get £13 for my ticket. For a top game, I'd get more than £19. Seems fair to me know.

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
What was the complaint based on? Club cash has always had an expiry date so there can be no issues there. I love HU and what they've achieved so far but they need to pick and choose their battles in order to remain relevant, rather than they just complain about anything and everything and just become a flea in the ear.

Yup AFAIK that was always the case- end of season or 12 months from it being credited to you or similar, and they scrapped that and extended it over Covid. I've usually used it to buy cup tickets or take it off the following season ticket which is actually pretty convenient, if I've had any.

It's not a bad system, but whether there should be an expiry on it at all is another matter.

Fantastic- thanks! I might just do that. Need to work out what exactly is and isn't running on Thursday. TFL don't bloody make it very clear sometimes until the day itself.

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
I just checked by emailing the ticket office and got this response:

"The Ticket Office have looked into this for you and can confirm that you have no Club Cash that was accrued before 5 April 2022. This means that you will have until the 31st July 2023 to spend your Club Cash."

ie any club cash from last season could have been spent on season tickets for this current season and indeed I did that for mine. Since 5th April I've accrued some club cash and I don't have to spend that until July 2023 so can use it on season ticket for following season.

Having to spend club cash by the end of the season was always in the Ts&Cs if I recall correctly.

Why a dead line though. Not like the club have not holding the money already and not like the money will not be spend on the club.
I do no see why the club has to do this.

Interesting- there's not anything in writing anywhere that you've seen, is there?

Assuming they probably aren't advertising it so it's an 'only if you ring us up' thing.

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
I might be missing the point because I am sure that the email said that you will lose any club cash accrued before April 2022.
So anyone who had a build up of club cash before April 2022 could have used all of it to renew their season ticket(s) for 2022/2023?

As long as you are still able to use club cash accumulated from the season before on season tickets or merchandise for the following season then that should go without saying. If they took that away then that would be a disgrace.

But like I say, maybe I am missing the point.

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
Is the value of credit you receive your season ticket price divided by 19? If so, I can't see a major issue with it.

Niblets 11:47 Tue Aug 16
Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
This applies to last season's credit doesn't it? Most would have used theirs when renewing.

As for Thursday, apparently they're giving club cash refunds if you can't get to the game which to be fair to them, they are in no way obliged to do.

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
You can buy a gift card from the store to the value of your clubcash in £5 increments.

'Apparently', these gift cards don't have an expiration date so you can then spend the amount at a later date on tickets/ST etc.

Whu - Yeah I agree the club cash resale thing is a liberty.

But what I'm saying is if you bought a ticket for any sport event, concert festival etc it's non refundable so normal practice

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
Not defending the club but if they use it towards season tickets then how much could they have accumulated between now and the end of last season?

Surely this is club cash that has been sitting around and not recently acquired?

That cannot be denied GB. Even the minority of supporters that used to give GSB the benefit, now see them for what they are. Ruthless. Greedy. Unambitious. Self-preserving.

They will take as much as they can off each and every one of you, no fucks given.

Until the pressure on them becomes too much.

Re: Club Cash - West Ham taking the piss again?
I never listed my season ticket on the club side purely because I’d rather get nothing than take a pittance to allow them to make a big profit on a ticket I had already paid for.

I don’t know why anyone gives them the chance to rip you off like that. If everyone stopped using it. They would have to make it worth you while instead of giving you a small amount of ‘club cash’.
